CHRISTIAN RESPONSE: On one hand the world wants you to value human life lower than we should since in their eyes we're just a product of random evolution (fake) over millions of years. Now on the other hand they value plant and animal life higher than we should. As Christians we honor all things that God has made and also given them their proper place. God in His created design has given the plants a body, He's given the animals a body and a mind (soul) and finally He's given us human-beings a body, soul AND eternal spirit. In Genesis God gave us dominion over the plants and animals and certainly for food to nourish us. When we live within God's created design we have the greatest chance for a healthy body, mind and spirit!

Genesis 9:1-4 - "And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.  And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.  Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat."

I Timothy 4:1-5 - "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer."
